LASC Squad

Preparing swimmers for galas, leagues, and championships

Squad is an additional session for competitive swimmers. swimmers are coached to prepare them for swimming competitions such as the herts Swimming League and local club friendly and development galas.
squad training sessions are held at the NHLC & st chris pool during the autumn and spring sessions
squad fees are an additional charge and siblings receive a half price discount.
apart from your usual swimming gear you will need to have a pair of fins (flippers). these can be bought from the coaching staff (if stock is available), new fins vary in price, and for second-hand fins we suggest a £5 donation. swimmers donate the second-hand fins as they grow out of them. the money raised helps club funds. of course, you can buy your fins from where you choose. letchworth ASC provides all other floats and training equipment. It is also strongly recommended that swimmers have a drink with them as well as any necessary medication.
squad swimmers are expected to train regularly and to make themselves available for galas and compete in club champs. gala schedule 2022
gala information and team lists will be emailed out and posted at squad. the teams will be selected from the swimmers that have signed up.
you will be presented with a free squad t-bag shirt at your first gala. please put your name inside it. should you lose or grow out of it then a replacement is available from the coaching staff, current price £15.00.
swimmers must be 9 in the current year to take part in league competitions. for friendly inter club galas the minimum age is 8.
