About Us

About Our Club

Entirely run by volunteers, our club offers a safe, friendly environment where children of all abilities can learn to swim.
we provide a structured pathway from beginner lessons through to squad training and competitions.
our values are simple: community, excellence, inclusivity, and fun.

Philosophy Statement

Our philosophy is to provide a positive experience for swimmers with a safe, welcoming, fun-learning, open and inclusive environment in which they can maximise their potential, provided by high quality volunteer teachers and coaches, which ensures the lowest possible cost and availability for most.
as well as learning new skills, the swimmers learn to interact with others and make new friends.
we are a club for all and aim to attract youngsters from all sections of the local community and introduce them to swimming.
whilst the swimming tuition is given within a friendly and welcoming framework, this does not detract from the high standard of teaching/coaching given at the club. the focus is to enable each individual to achieve his or her own personal potential in swimming – whatever that may be.
the club’s annual programme ensures that tuition is given on all strokes and related swimming skills, and that all members have the opportunity to participate in time trials and the annual club championships once they have attained the correct NPTS stage to swim england standards.
the club has an invitational squad that competes in external competitions maintaining the interest of the swimmers and enhancing the spirit of the club.
the club actively encourages its captains and senior swimmers to help in the learning process and supports them in attending appropriate training courses leading to teaching qualifications. this gives them a better understanding of stroke technique and the teaching/coaching process and provides the younger swimmers with excellent role models. the club is committed to a programme of continuous improvement including the professional development of our coaches and teachers.
